Larry R. Martinez, the Chair of the Litigation, Labor and Employment Practice Group, joined the firm in 1998. His practice emphasizes employment, commercial litigation, business, real estate, insurance defense, construction defect and environmental and toxic tort litigation arising from alleged exposures to mold, toxic chemicals and radiation. His experience includes over twenty-four years of defense work for the owner, operators, and insurers of the Rocky Flats Nuclear Weapons Plant (now known as The Rocky Flats Environmental Technology Site) in radiation, chemical injury and contamination claims.

Mr. Martinez acts as legal consultant in toxic injury/environmental damage matters. He has presented both formal and private seminars on addressing claims arising out of the claimed presence of and exposure to radiation, chemicals and biotoxins. He also lectures and writes on the interaction of workers'' compensation law and Federal disability and civil rights laws. He has been the Editor and frequent contributor to "Employment Rights and Wrongs" that appeared in the Sunday Rocky Mountain News and "Keep It Legal" that appeared in the Sunday Boulder Camera and in the weekly Colorado Jobs. He is a co-author of the "Workers' Compensation and Disability Issues" chapter of The Practitioner's Guide to Colorado Employment Law (2006).

Mr. Martinez was born in Albuquerque, New Mexico on October 19, 1948. He received his B.S. (Bus) in 1971 and J.D. in 1974 from the University of Colorado and was admitted to practice in Colorado in 1974. Mr. Martinez was an Assistant Attorney General, Colorado, 1979-1980, an Adjunct Professor, Legal Research and Writing, University of Colorado School of Law, 1975-1977 and an Adjunct Professor, Business Law and Ethics, University Of Denver, 2006.
