Joseph S. Borus has considerable experience in the venture capital and private placement areas, having represented major venture capital funds throughout the Western United States for over 20 years, as well as issuers seeking private financing. Earlier in his career, he practiced in the New York City firm of Chadbourne & Parke. While at Chadbourne, a significant portion of Mr. Borus' practice involved the representation of both acquiring companies and target companies in merger and acquisition transactions. Mr. Borus is Chairman of BWE's Business Transactions Department. During his years at the firm, Mr. Borus has been the principal lawyer for clients in several acquisition transactions, either representing privately-held companies which were acquired by public corporations or private corporations which have expanded their business through strategic acquisitions of other private companies.

Additionally, Mr. Borus represents a number of business clients for which he regularly provides a variety of legal services. Mr. Borus is a cum laude graduate of Williams College, where he was a member of Phi Beta Kappa, and is an alumnus of Yale Law School, where he was an Editor of the Yale Law Journal. Mr. Borus has been a member of the Executive Committee of the Society of Alumni of Williams College, having also served as President of the Colorado chapter. He is a member of the Board of Trustees of Shalom Park, a Denver based non-profit continuum of care campus for the elderly, and a Director of the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation.
